Fall at Prairie Grove School District

Good morning Parents of PG Students!

We have some exciting things going on with Prairie Grove PTA this year.  Our first 2 meetings have been greatly successful and we are so proud to have such a boost in membership and attendance.

This last weekend was our First Annual Mother Son Night of Fun.  We quadrupled our expectations for this event...awesome!  Thank you to those wonderful moms who put this event together and volunteered for set-up and clean-up.  We couldn't do these events without you.

Our Innisbrook Wrapping Paper fundraiser, though requested on our fundraiser survey at the end of last year, was not as successful as we had hoped.  Those orders have been turned in and we will get those items out to the students for distribution as soon as they are received.

Our Fall Festival is coming up on November 5th.  We need all of you hard-working parents to chip in to make this event a success as it will need to be our major fundraiser for the year.  These fundraisers go towards putting on fun events for the kids, such as the Mother Son Night of Fun, the Daddy Daughter Dance and the Mini-Fun Day.  We also use these funds for teacher appreciation, lollipops for shots and popcorn day at the schools.  To continue with all of our planned events, we need to bring in enough funds to cover costs.  We have been working diligently with Committee Chair, Brittany Allsup to make this night fun (and profitable), but it needs more work.  Here's what we still need:

  • More ideas for games.  We have about 10, but we need more.
  • DONATIONS!!!  We need big items for a silent auction, small items for game prizes, mid-sized items for door prizes, food items and cash donations for advertising the event.
  • Chili Cook off Entrants and Judges as well as a donated prize for the winner.
  • Delicious Baked Goods for a Cake Walk, Beautiful Baked Goods for the silent auction and Small Individually Wrapped Baked Goods for purchase for dessert.
  • Time...we need everyone to sign up for at least 30 minutes of help with the event itself.  Setup, Tear-down, manning booths, serving food etc.

I'm sure there's more that will need to be done, but this is a start.  All of your help is appreciated.
